Paying for a license with donations
We’ve made our licenses as affordable as possible, per-student. But we know that sometimes the school purchase process can take time. And you want your students to be using the best tools, right now!
Now, by working together, a group of donors (e.g. parents) can overcome the limitations of the school budget year.
We provide a quick and easy process whereby donors can each contribute towards a single-teacher license:
Teacher creates a “donation request” on their Account page
Teacher sends link out to potential donors
Donors contribute (e.g. $8.40 per student for a class of 30)
Once the target amount has been hit, the teacher is automatically granted a license
It’s a bit like GoFundMe or KickStarter, in other words. See below for more details, or ask at info@dataclassroom.com.
FAQ
What does it cost?
There are four options:
Up to 10 students: $150
Up to 30 students: $250
Up to 60 students: $400
Up to 200 students: $600
Does everyone have to donate the same?
It’s completely flexible. People can donate whatever they want to, or can afford. The only requirement is that you reach the target.
Can anyone donate?
Yes. So you can also send the link to your rich auntie if you like.
Can you upgrade the number of students?
Sure. A teacher can start a new donation request for a new bunch of students at any time (e.g. a new class). The license will then cover students from both donations (e.g. 10 + 30 = 40 students).
How long does the donated license last?
It lasts a year, same as a license paid for directly. There is no repeat billing.
What if the target is not reached?
The teacher can cancel the donation request at any time, and all money will be refunded to the donors.
It it secure?
Payments take place via a leading secure third-party payment system (Stripe) and we do not store credit card numbers or indeed any personal information. Donors will just need to give an email address in order to receive a receipt.
