About DataClassroom, Inc.

DataClassroom Inc was founded in 2018, with the mission to improve data literacy outcomes in educational systems worldwide.

We see data literacy as an important skill for all, whether used in a profession or in the role of citizen, navigating in a world where critical thinking is key to participation in democracy.

How did we get started?

Co-founder Aaron Reedy realized from his earlier classroom experience at Chicago Public Schools and his research at the University of Virginia that instructors and students were lacking the right tool for the job - a graphing and analysis tool that was pedagogically designed to aid the learning experience, and that would be immediately usable by students of all levels.

Aaron had a chance meeting with his co-founder-to-be Dan Temple, who had been dissatisfied with the quality of the tools he saw his own children using at school, and wanted to use his own experience in building web-based solutions and managing engineering teams at Intel to improve this.

Together they decided to pool their knowledge and experience and start developing DataClassroom. The rest is history!

And now….

At DataClassroom we work continually to improve the learning experience from our tool and associated online resources, based on inspiration from our contact with our customers (teachers, college professors and students).

We find it extremely rewarding to hear of success stories where students have, to their own amazement sometimes, gained understanding, intuitions and indeed enjoyment from the process of data analysis.

And every time we hear of a new difficulty being faced in a classroom, we consider this a challenge - here is a new problem waiting to be solved!
